I work with wood a lot and use my nailer a lot. I'm also very interested in Makita batteries. So I was really looking forward to this tool. I looked for wireless options, but the Makita has its own issues. Unfortunately, that's not entirely true either. First, it's pretty hard. I understand it must be bulkier than a pneumatic nailer because it's self-contained. I understand. But it seems too difficult for me. Maybe that's okay if you're renovating your home or working with wood in your garage. I just don't want to use it all day. It really works, it removes the nail with no problem. Drown her just right. I've also tried Dewalt and Porter cable nails and they all worked great. The problem is I get too many dents in the wood, pretty good dents. I hope you understand what I mean about the pictures I posted. I don't know how to prevent it because it's a tip and not a nail. If you're doing gross stuff this will probably work for you, but for good stuff I don't see how it would work. It's good that the gun comes with lights, but they look like the old school diodes I used in electronics. class 30 years ago. They are not very bright and have a lot of shadows, probably due to the way they are mounted. Doesn't make the job much easier. The only security is the nose, which is ok for my pneumatic nailer. I have to say right away that it has no other security features. Came in a box. For the price you would think you would at least get a hard case. Maybe I'm expecting too much. I don't really understand the two firing modes. Well I get normal mode, works like any other pistol. But the contact mode is not clear to me. You hold the trigger, then pull the tip and it fires. It may be useful for the trader. Or maybe I'm not a builder so I don't see the value. Am I missing something? It seems well done. Mostly plastic with aluminum. Although the nail slot doesn't have a big edge to hold the nails. It works, just not as tightly as other pistols. I hate giving a bad review, I really wanted it to work for me but unfortunately, as I said, just not there. Despite shooting a limited number of nails, it never pinched me once. I will update this if it changes. And of course if I find out why it's denting I'll update this. In summary, if you agree it's heavy and the wood doesn't dent, this might work for you. The best I can say.
