The machine is good value and very easy to use. I measured the tap water before distillation and it was 193 ppm (TDS) and after distillation it was 26 ppm. It's very amazing! I expected distilled water to be zero. I tested filtered water (zero ppm) and store-bought distilled water (zero ppm). So not too happy it's still showing significant particles. In addition, it forms limescale deposits in the aquarium quite quickly and is not easy to clean. I see that I need to clean it after I've distilled each gallon. On the other hand, it is as quiet as a room fan. During the distillation, about 90°F of heat is generated above the fan. I might consider a ceramic filter like Aquapure instead if it needs that much maintenance but doesn't offer significantly better filtration. This is probably how all water stills work and no other brand gives better results. Still I give 4 stars for the good price and it works as expected.
