These are charming, quirky bowls. I already have quite a few pieces from the roro brand and I've been very happy with them -- they are well made with a vintage, hand-made look. Some reviewers mentioned receiving bowls with even rims, but the bowls I received have an irregular scalloped rim. In addition, the shape and size of each is slightly different, so these would be great for a casual table. The speckled finish is also unique to each piece. The bowls feel smooth and the glaze has a nice gloss. The bottoms are left unglazed. These bowls are the perfect size for pasta or a large salad, but of course they would work well for just about any type of food, and they would be nice as serving bowls, too. They are fairly thick and have a substantial feel. They work well with either the black or white dishes I have from roro or I can mix & match them with other dinnerware. The current price of $21.50 seems reasonable for these versatile, hand-crafted bowls. The bowls were very well packaged in a sturdy box and arrived intact.
