Failed to load media. I received this item for free as a Revain Vine reviewer and this is my honest review. I only ask for things I actually use and will use before writing a review. I saw this and thought it was a new idea. When I drill holes in drywall, especially carpet, it's difficult to keep the dust out. My first thoughts upon opening this item were that this is a simplified design. There were two parts: the tool itself for the dust extractor, and a separate adapter for the nozzle that inserts into the tool and adapts it to the sizes of industrial vacuum cleaner nozzles of different diameters (pictured separately and together). The adapter fits the tool perfectly and my vacuum cleaner hose is firmly connected to the adapter. As a side note, the description says it's a "hands-free collector" and "a revolutionary new hands-free dust removal tool." They even show a video of this tool sticking to walls and floors just by vacuuming. Due to the weight and flexibility of my vacuum hose, I couldn't get the tool to stay vacuumed on a variety of surfaces. I have no idea how the heck this thing works hands free. I didn't have anything to attach to the drywall, and while I take my reviews seriously, I didn't want to send my drywall to Switzerland just for a review video. So I tried another method. I attached the dust collection tool to the vacuum cleaner and then attached it to a 2x4 piece of pine. I used a crimp to hold everything while the tool moved and to make it easier to use with a drill in one hand and a cell phone in the other. I turned on the vacuum and drilled a hole. The dust disappeared as quickly as the drill (video attached). So, at first glance, this tool seems to work. But there are several problems. The tool is molded from plastic with a slight bend, which is nice. There is another wider piece of plastic glued to the bottom of the tool, the part that goes against what you're drilling (picture). It's not quite "compact" and in my opinion other materials would be much better suited for this purpose. For example felt or foam (e.g. as weather protection). It will also better protect the painted wall from scratches. The open area of the nozzle is small, which is good for smaller debris, but drilling with a larger bit will create larger debris that can clog the hole. As at the end of all my reviews, I wonder if I would actually buy this item. For the limited application of drilling holes in walls over carpet or any other surface you want to keep clean, yes it works. However, I wouldn't trust this to be hands-free.
