I've worn EVA sandals in the garden and around the house for many years - even for short trips to the nearest grocery store. I bought a new pair when my old ones were completely worn out. The new EVA sandals have very little cushioning and the sole is so weak I could feel all the gravel around my house through the soles of the shoes. I threw away these new shoes because I could walk barefoot just as well, the soles were so brittle. Then I tried Crocs because a lot of people like them. The heel of the crocs is thick enough to protect against walking on gravel, but the toe was also weak so I had to put an insole in these crocs for walking around the garden. I think things are getting cheaper and cheaper today. But the Crocs are fine with the insole now.
