Review on 🎙️ Radtel Speaker Mic for BaoFeng UV-9R (or UV-9R Plus), BF-A58, BF-9700, GT-3WP - Original and Waterproof by Jessica Davis

When the handheld mic arrived, it was it wrapped in a plastic bag, and Revane shipped it in a yellow padded envelope. The hand microphone does not come with any instructions, but the connection is clear. The single pan head screw on the UV-9R radio's mic port cover (right side) is used to hold the mic port down - so move it to the mic jack (the studded end of the handheld mic cable). sticks out - don't lose it, by the way). It didn't work initially. After inspecting the front (the pins) - I noticed the pins weren't sticking out - so no connection to the radio (little flat copper circles on the radio's mic jack). I disassembled the pin end of the handheld mic connector and found that the interface was not assembled properly and the pins were not fully pulled out. After assembling the pin interface - with protruding pins - the handheld microphone worked. I really don't think a handheld mic is waterproof so have some plastic handy in case it rains. The sound was ok, but was heavily distorted at maximum volume. Overall poorly made and similar to a very cheap phone you would find in a child's toy (featherweight - unlike good handheld mics from Yaesu or Kenwood). Good for short trips, but otherwise not recommended.
