This is my first OBD2 scanner - I decided to get one because we always go to the auto parts store with the check engine light on to read the code. I'm glad I have one now so I can get my own codes and decide if I can fix something or take it to a repair shop. I was attracted to this one mainly for its full touch interface and solid beautiful body. I didn't like devices with multifunctional hard buttons, which now seem archaic. This device did not disappoint upon initial inspection. It has a nice big, easy to read touchscreen surrounded by a rubber rim that makes it comfortable to hold. The included wrench and lanyard feel very strong but are a bit flexible. This device doesn't come with many user manuals, but I was still able to figure it out fairly easily as it has the familiar features and feel of the Android cell phone interface. There are buttons for videos and tutorials behind the "Repair Info" button in Settings, but they were blank when I got to them. It runs with your computer via the included USB-C cable, or from the vehicle's power supply when plugged into the diagnostic port. The computer interface is really only for accessing settings and updating firmware and software. I plugged it into my PC, connected to my wireless network and then checked for updates and downloaded the latest software with no problems. I then went into settings and selected the features I wanted, e.g. B. the ability to take screenshots, adjust the brightness and choose my time zone. There's a built-in browser link in settings that opens Google Chrome, so I addressed that, which is pretty handy too. There's 14GB of storage, of which you have a little over 4GB available for the files you want to store on it. That should be enough, but if you need more storage, there's a micro SD card slot under the rubber cover on the bottom of the scanner, next to the USB-C port. There are many files that you can update individually based on your specific needs in the "Update" section of the settings. I have updated the Ford and Chrysler/Jeep files as well as the brake file and a few others - again no problem. I then hooked it up to my '07 Jeep Wrangler, which had check engine lights and gas cap lights. I pressed the OBD button and it quickly read the error code. I then drew up a report and emailed it to myself from a scanner while standing in the driveway. How cool is that!? After that I was able to find the error code in the scanner unit where it gave me detailed information about it and told me the possible causes of the problem. I also emailed this report to myself. My email address was saved and I only had to enter it the first time, which I really appreciate. One of the disadvantages of this device is the lack of a detailed instruction manual, as well as the presence of several grammatical errors both in the manual and on the device. As already mentioned, even as a newbie, I was still able to navigate the device to these scanners. Another thing to note is that this device appears to be capable of more advanced troubleshooting and testing, but many of its features come with a fee. Also, there are placeholders for store names and contact information in the reports, but there doesn't seem to be an option to enter your own if you'd like. It would be a nice addition to the printouts if you give them to friends or clients after scanning their cars. I've contacted Thinkcar but haven't heard from them about it - I'll update this review with that information when I receive it. You would think it should be in the settings but I couldn't find it. Bottom line, I'm very happy with the device's ability to read error codes, ease of use, as well as the beautiful touchscreen and slick user interface. Good unit.
