Great for my needs but…

I was concerned given how many reviews said the item was broken or missing. For a non-refundable item, this was a high price to pay for a little peace of mind. To my surprise, it arrived undamaged. I bought this for a chipmunk we rescued as a teenager who can't be returned to the wild (we tried twice...). I wanted to replicate its natural habitat and the top loading tanks weren't deep enough and too bulky with a lid. This tank had 10 inches between the doors and the bottom, enough room to fill it with substrate so it could dig tunnels, and the front entrance allows me to easily get in for cleaning or upgrading. He loves it and has many levels for climbing and activities. It is a beautiful tank and I have received many compliments! I don't have water in the tank so I can't tell you if it's leaking. The lock is good and the handles have a nice feel to reduce fingerprints. However, there are some points that you should consider before ordering. It wasn't difficult to put together, but it wasn't easy either. It took me an hour because of the delicacy and clumsiness of the panes of glass. Directions are poor and a video link would have been great but there wasn't one. The glass parts were marked which was very helpful and they give you special assembly gloves but you also have to assemble the joints and they are flimsy. Putting everything together is the work of two people. I used duct tape to secure the rear joints in place so I could insert the rear rail. The front connectors connect to the door panels (I've been trying to figure this out for a long time) and aren't like the back panel, so technically the side panel is only held securely to one side of the panel. When placing objects with suction cups on the sidebar (seaweed hammocks and plastic utensils), I had to squeeze the glass from both sides at once or you risk jumping out of the sidebar and breaking the glass. I had to assemble on the floor to be tall enough to fit the panels (mine is 5ft 3ft) but then the empty tank was too heavy to lift onto a table stand once complete. I had to wait for help and then stress that if I lifted it it would tear or break. When assembled, the system doesn't feel particularly solid as the connectors aren't actually connected. Another problem is fingerprints and glare. When the house isn't dark, the shine and reflections of the glass interfere with the view, and I still clean up the prints by adding interior objects. It's not a deal killer and probably applies to all glass tanks, but glass in all directions seems to irritate it... not a manufacturer issue, just be mindful of placement because if you don't put it on a stand with wheels, you can can't actually move it due to power issues. Collect it as close as possible to the place where it will stay. Overall I'm satisfied and glad I bought it. Delivery was fast. The box was heavy and arrived damaged so I can see how parts can break, but everything except the bottom seemed very well packed.
