I've had this monitor for a week in daily use for work (mostly text editing on a MacBook Pro) and Windows gaming. Like many of you reading this, I've used fairly standard 24-inch 60Hz IPS monitors (Dell, LG, and even the older Monoprice) prior to this monitor. The difference is fantastic. Below are some of the less obvious observations I've observed so far. :• I connected two cables to the DP jacks (one is always connected to my tower and the other one I will connect to my MacBook when needed) and so far the monitor has automatically switched inputs which is great.• Buttons to control on-screen display (OSD) menus tend to be clunky and noisy, requiring too much force to press. • Fortunately, the brightness can be controlled via software (Monitorian on Windows and MonitorControl on macOS seem to be good). • My 2017 MacBook Pro can take full advantage of the resolution, but only at 120Hz (possibly due to using an older USB-C to DP 1.2 cable). The edges on this VA panel are better, but not where. For example next to an LG OLED TV • I'm running FreeSync enabled via OS D and no problems so far, I haven't noticed any tearing on my RTX 2060 Super. • As mentioned, I disabled HDR as it seemed to override brightness on Windows and caused some flickering on macOS. Anyway, the HDR400 is a little confusing. • Highly recommended gas spring stand. • The curve is initially hard, but after tuning I like it. • Always on, faint glowing red ring on back is bullshit. • Sorry trombone for no USB ports, however. • ❗❗ The mini USB connector (used for the red logo projector) can power the USB LED strip with a mini USB to USB female adapter. Unfortunately, the backlight isn't as bright as a standard USB port, but it's still better than nothing. Overall, this monitor offers a solid price point. The image quality is superb and doesn't scream gamers. The only thing I would change is the addition of USB ports and better OSD controls.
