Review on Eagle Mouse Keyboard Converter Playstation 3 by John Murphy

Sometimes I like FPS but I'm tired of building a PC. Mobility is more important than electricity these days. I prefer consoles for modern shooters. Ah, but the controller; it's terrible. Passable with practice, but terrible. For some reason, mouse and keyboard are rarely supported on consoles. Probably some kind of "level playing field" philosophy. Halo proved it can work after slowing everything down, which is why all shooters are now dual-joystick compatible. To play with friends, you must be on the console. I needed a new controller. My test game is Borderlands. I liked the game on PC and I want to play it on PS3 and then play Borderlands 2. I tried a similar mouse and keyboard and wasn't impressed. It just lacked accuracy and the game got worse. I doubted the Eagle Eye converter would be anything else. I was wrong. What sets the EEC apart is the software used to set up the device before connecting it to the console. The keys are compared on the PC and then saved on the device. You can save up to 2 files at the same time on your device and as many as you like on your PC. You then connect the EEC to the console along with a mouse and keyboard (check the compatibility list online). This is where the magic happens and this is where the eagle eye shines! The device reserves the F1-F8 keys for fine tuning and saving parameters. F1 is used for Deadzone Removal, F2 for Horizontal Sensitivity, F3 for Vertical, F4 Cornerstone, F5 for RPM. I only used the first 3 as I found them to be perfect after tweaking them. Tip: Maximize sensitivity in game settings, then turn those settings off for maximum control. The EEC also has a really cool feature where the sensitivity settings are saved separately for the oscilloscope/oscilloscope. I configured EEC to use different values when I hold down the right mouse button. I didn't even know I needed it. Bravo! The instructions were very difficult to understand at first, but if you follow them carefully, it's actually quite easy to make these fine adjustments. You can then reconnect to the PC and save the final configuration values. Configurations can also be saved on the Penguin United website for others to use. Configurations are available for download for many popular games. Finally I could play FPS without wanting to throw away my controller. No, it's not as good as PC, but it's very close. 9 stars out of 10 close. The number of buttons available is limited by the number of buttons on the controller, so the buttons often have dual functions. Also, the menu navigation can be a bit tricky as you have to remember where you have remapped all the keys on your keyboard.
