Three things to know before reading this review: 1. My iron's plate was perfectly clean. I used the iron on the wool setting, not the hottest available.3. This case is FULL junk. I needed a new ironing board cover and was tempted by the price, the bag and the great reviews. I should have known that such a cheap product was a piece of junk. I was thrilled when the pad arrived, but when I took it out of the box I noticed that it was a lot uglier than it looked online. I wasn't interested. After all, this is an ironing board cover, not a work of art, so I happily threw it on my board. It fits like a glove. We were ready for an exciting start! Unfortunately that was the high point. I waited for the iron to heat up and put the first piece of fabric in it. A little steam and we went to the races. The first thing I noticed was the smell. It was a pungent chemical smell that almost choked me. As I looked at the board, I noticed that every spot where the iron touched the pad turned brown. I immediately turned off the iron and removed the fabric from the board to examine it more closely. As far as I could tell, steam, iron and this coating were in contact somewhere, brown streaks appeared. It couldn't have been a burn because I kept moving the iron and the iron itself was on the lowest steam setting! I was afraid the sleeve would transfer stains to the fabric, so I immediately removed the sleeve from the record and printed a return label. This pup is going back to Revain and hopefully ends up in the trash. I am very disappointed in this product. Maybe I was an idiot for thinking I could get a decent ironing board cover for a great price, but at least now I'm willing to spend a little more to get something that isn't a waste of materials.
