Very difficult to unlatch and I don't have weak hands or fingers. It's easier to just tap it with a hammer the first few times until it wears down a bit. I wish the yellow plate was held by an electronic clamp as there is only an o-ring holding it loose. If you try to operate it with one hand and you have to turn it upside down, you'll lose your plate and your patience. I think it will weld to be honest. And the E-Clip or C-Clip would still allow for detachability and unlimited rotation. Other than that it's great, like most Lisle instruments.
