From the moment I opened the box, my cats were interested in this scratching post. All three of them watched me put it together and were sniffing it. But when I finished and set it down, they took turns investigating it and taking an initial pass. After a few hours, they still keep coming back to it, which means it's going to be a long-term hit.I'd definitely recommend this item. It is not expensive and it was very easy to put together. The directions are very clear and I think it would be no problem for anyone to put it together. The parts seem to be pretty solid and it is definitely very sturdy. I am keeping it in my office with the hopes that the cats come to visit me more often.
