I am pleasantly surprised with this case. I dropped my previous Surface without a case and the screen cracked badly. I bought it to protect my spare tablet. The outer shell is made of a durable rubber material that perfectly absorbs any shock when the tablet falls into a corner. It takes a bit of maneuvering to plug in the keyboard, as do the USB and charging ports, but you won't break anything. You also have to be a bit more careful when opening the stand and make sure that you don't grab the self-adhesive back of the case, but the stand. Taking the tablet out of the case can be a bit tricky; When removing the tablet, you must be careful not to damage the screen. This case feels much more durable than other more expensive cases of a similar style. I also like having a case that fits my phone. For those of you who are considering giving up, please don't. Surface tablets don't last long, and it's very difficult (and expensive) to find a repair shop willing to replace a damaged screen.
