'Head shape pillow' is the wrong way to advertise it. but safe if you hold your baby with him on your back for most of the day. It's just not the ideal shape. Great pillow for babies on the back. A few suggestions for those who are buying; 1. Put it under the sheet. 2. Buy one of the other types of baby pillows and change them every few days, even without a pillow. This pillow is great, but the notch can shape your baby's head a bit if he's on it a lot. 3. Hold your baby in your arms, spend time on her stomach, and don't let her lie on her back all day. All the negative reviews about me seem like they keep their baby on their back for too long.
