Functional and beautiful. Very well designed.

time and finally couldn't stand it and bought it. This one doesn't disappoint. I was concerned that it would be too heavy and possibly tip over under the weight of my very large and heavy dinner plates. Ordinary dish racks would tip over if I didn't place them correctly, so I balanced by putting dishes on the old rack to dry. This dish rack took her like a champ. The first thing I did was place four large square plates on the top shelf. I wanted to test the rack to see what it could do, so I didn't put anything in the base rack to offset the weight. There was no risk of the frame becoming unbalanced or tipping over. Four plates were firmly in place as I weighed down the top shelf with coffee mugs. I was impressed. The dish rack was extremely balanced and stood firm. This thing isn't going anywhere no matter what I put in it. I'm lazy when it comes to drying dishes, so I'm very good at creating huge, towering structures out of wet dishes. This dish rack is perfect for that. I particularly like the cut-outs for the knives in the dish rack. I put in a 4 inch utility knife and an 8 inch chef's knife. The chef's knife sticks out a few inches, but it's still safe to tumble dry. The dish rack hangs over the ledge on the outside of the dryer and runs back into the main waste bin drain. This maximizes the space inside the dryer that can be used for more dishes. The plastic feet on the bottom of the base are rubber coated to prevent the entire dish rack from sliding on the counter, even when the stand is empty and very light. The spout wobbles and pops out which is nice but I don't see the need to adjust it. Most importantly, it is a beautiful dish rack. I know I'm a nerd saying this, but I'm really fed up with an ugly piece of plastic that doesn't really do much. My kitchen sink is in a countertop that is not supported by a wall. Everyone who enters my house sees my 360 dish rack, so I'm very happy that I have a dish rack that looks good and does its job well.

Pros
  • kitchen and dining room
Cons
  • I've wanted a stand like this for dishes for a long
