This shelving system is made from three way C section steel bars and the whole system is powder coated with an extra thick strong hard gloss two stage cracked finish where the base color is black, and the second level or "crackle" is gray. It looks beautiful and seems indestructible. But the biggest surprise with this shelving system is that instead of using cheap plastic hollow anchors and hollow wall screws that are of such poor quality that heads snap off trying to install them, this one comes with heavy duty 2" hex head screws - YES, SCREWS! It's almost as if the manufacturer consulted a professional American contractor and installed equipment that they really need and trust. I am a retired American contractor and I can tell you that this is truly an industrial quality shelving system. He's super strong and everything about him is better than I expected. I can't think of anything I would change about this product, including its packaging, which protects it exceptionally well and makes it almost impossible for devices to be lost or damaged in transit unless someone drives a truck over them. or dropping it from an airplane. I really love and recommend this shelving system. I don't think you will find anything better for the price.
