Worked like a champ from an external powered USB hub. Let's face it, floppy drives haven't been included in computers for many years. USB sticks are much faster and easier to use. But if you have some old floppy disks that you were too lazy to convert to modern storage technologies, then this drive is perfect for you. I used this drive to recover a bunch of pictures I had saved on 1.44MB floppy disks in 1995 (vintage Win 95). I thought I lost all those clipart for the story. I decided to try and recover all of those cliparts, but I no longer had a computer that could read the disk. I recovered almost all of these cliparts for less than $20 using this external floppy drive! It was plug and play on my new 64-bit Windows 10 Pro computer. He had no problem reading all my old floppy disks. The only problem I had was that some of the older files were incompatible with my modern version of the drawing software. I saved hundreds of dollars on clipart. True, it will be a one-time use. I don't expect floppy disks to come back any time soon or ever. If you have data on old floppy disks gathering dust in a closet somewhere, this is the solution for you to recover that old data.
