A professional photographer needs something light.

Nikon Coolpix P6000 is a great camera. I have two pentax k-1000, nikon 808, nikon d-100 and this is it! I had an accident in January 2006 and have not been able to work professionally since my d-100 was too heavy to carry and hold on my shoulder. I was discouraged by so many lightweight cameras, too much noise, the light sensors were terrible and the list goes on and on. It finally came out and I searched for two years and found it. At first I was skeptical and put off as amateur photographers are fascinated by digital dots and shots and even their cell phone cameras! But I decided to try. I took over 500 photos in a week and now my true love of photography is back. I love that it has manual focus that really works and shows the depth of field. The colors are amazing and there are even settings you can tweak yourself to increase contrast and tone. Depending on whether you are inside or outside of iso-matter. If you shoot with flash above 800 ISO you will start to see some noise. With lightning, of course, that's out of the question. Now I know that flash is always a big hit with professionals, but with this camera you can turn the flash off to use it as a fill light, or turn it up for a more dramatic effect. You can shoot in black and white, sepia, and blue (I can't remember the technical term), and you can also change the saturation and contrast. I love the wide angle and was even surprised by the digital zoom! Most digital zooms are useless, but this one looks pretty good and is useful. The ambient light sensor is great for reading the available light, and you have the ability to change the white balance and even adjust one of the white balance settings. With a small camera, you have a lot of control over how you want your photo to look. I am absolutely impressed!
