Great camera to take with you

I bought the Nikon Coolpix P6000 to complement the Nikon D300 that I already have. I needed a small, lightweight point-and-shoot camera that I could slip into a bag, purse, or pocket just in case the D300 was too heavy or intrusive. I've only had the camera for a few weeks, but so far I'm happy with its performance, functionality and portability. It's ready to use right out of the box and delivers great photos. One downside (in my opinion) is the 13MP resolution. It's just overkill. But it's…

GPS not working, not worth buying.

I bought this camera to have a nice compact camera with built in GPS to automatically tag photos with their location. I ordered a camera with 2 days delivery time. Wall Street Photo did not ship until I emailed five days after ordering. However, they sent it with a delivery time of 2 days. I've been using the camera for over a month. Image quality is good. Ease of use is fair. The image capture time is very slow, which means you can't take multiple shots in quick succession. The power button is

Works great for me!

This is a really good point and shoot camera. It has an exceptionally sharp lens (Nikon quality is why you buy this camera). The buttons and settings are relatively easy to learn, although as with any digital camera, you'll need to read the manual and consult it from time to time to really get the hang of it. The 4x zoom is handy for general photography, but limited when you need to get closer to distant subjects. I haven't exercised, but the battery seems to have enough capacity for normal…

Works for me! for Point & Shoot Digital Cameras

My experience with digital cameras is limited so this review is written from a beginner's point of view. So far I am very happy with this camera. I bought this camera specifically for the upcoming vacation. So far I think the battery life is very good. I took about 300 shots, about 30 of them with flash and fully charged battery. Indoor shots produced grainy and/or overexposed shots in certain lighting conditions, but lounging on the couch with the instruction manual on a Sunday afternoon…

Excellent camera. If it works

I bought a camera for a trip to the West. Worked great and did everything I wanted. I love the slow motion feature which I still want to play with but haven't tried yet. The GPS is a bit slow to pick up a signal at times, but that's just a minor annoyance in the grand scheme of things. Here's the problem: For three quarters of my vacation, I noticed a black fuzzy dot in the upper right corner of all the shots. Depending on the zoom setting, it's clearly visible or almost completely out of focus

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • There are problems

A professional photographer needs something light.

Nikon Coolpix P6000 is a great camera. I have two pentax k-1000, nikon 808, nikon d-100 and this is it! I had an accident in January 2006 and have not been able to work professionally since my d-100 was too heavy to carry and hold on my shoulder. I was discouraged by so many lightweight cameras, too much noise, the light sensors were terrible and the list goes on and on. It finally came out and I searched for two years and found it. At first I was skeptical and put off as amateur photographers…

A solid camera with some serious problems

Ok, first let me give you an idea of how well I know this camera. In the summer of 2009 I cycled across America with this camera. And today I'm going to Tanzania for 5 weeks to climb Kilimanjaro (I'll update this review with the performance of this camera). I've had a lot of time to study this camera seriously and there are things I love and things I hate. BUILD QUALITY: Can't tell from the pictures but it's built like a tank. The body seems to be mostly metal which is a blessing during my bike

Pros
  • Worth the money
Cons
  • Alright
