The supplied plug does not fit my truck

The supplied plug does not fit the plug on my truck. After lots of experimentation with wiring combinations that made absolutely no sense, we found the following. Below is the combination used to work with my 1994 Chevrolet C1500 third brake light. Truck Red to White Truck Yellow to Red Truck Black to Black and Yellow Truck White Unused
