First of all thanks to those who answered my question according to the instructions. No, nothing is included, but it is an easy tool to use. I thought it was well done and did the job very well. The teeth depth adjustment knob seemed to spin easily, and I liked the amount of play I had while spinning. Considering I'm 78 and 79 years old, I found that buying $10 in knee pads really helped protect my knees, allowing me to kick and stretch them well. This was my first experience with carpet stairs that had a 90 degree turn for 2/3 of the height. Given that the boss (his wife, of course) was happy with the results, I'd say it was a good investment. All in all, I spent about $150 renting tools and a carpet stapler but avoided the $500 required to install a carpet. So $350 up front and tools for the next job on top of that.
