Love this item. We recently got a bed from Sleep Number, so adding two remotes to my already crowded bedside table was driving me crazy. The remote controls would have been too far away (short arms) otherwise I would have placed my phone on one of them and it would have fallen on the floor. I keep my iPad in the rear slot on the side. Then one of the bed remotes is in the middle slot, then my phone is on the side in front along with the other bed remote. It also solved another problem I had: short charging cables. I still can't understand why Apple thinks 3ft of cable is enough. Of course, it will go from the floor to the top of the bedside table. But it hardly hits when you're in bed trying to use your device while it's online. So you can connect the cable directly to the bedside table. The cord can then be plugged into the charging station or left hanging outside, which I do. I let my cables hang down for easy access and to prevent them from getting tangled in the box. The top is held by magnets. This prevents the top from coming off if you just lean something against the back (e.g. a tablet or small laptop). The only thing I don't like is that the charger makes my phone a little wobbly when plugged in. Once it reaches 100% and something appears on the screen, e.g. a text message, alarm, Facebook notification, etc., the phone will beep continuously as if disconnected and reconnected. It doesn't turn off until I take the charger out of my phone. This has never happened to me before using this charging station. Although this is not so important. I often woke up in the middle of the night. So I just check my phone to make sure it's charged and unplug it. Then at least I don't have to worry while my alarm goes off! **Edit: I wrote earlier that the beep was a loading completion notification. It actually makes a "phone connected" sound.
