I wasn't sure if this collar would work, but it does. Our Golden Retriever barks at anyone who comes close to our door and keeps barking for a while. I definitely didn't want a stun collar, just something to gently distract her. This collar does just that. Now she rarely takes more than two barks because the sound distracts her enough. When she reaches the third bark, the vibration will give her a slight thrill, and then she will definitely stop. We also commend her for stopping barking. It's sensitive to noise and touch, which is why I find it works so well. A stubborn dog may ignore sounds and vibrations. However, I think this is a great humane way for the average dog to correct excessive barking.
