I was a very satisfied customer of Cosmetic Skin Solutions Vitamin C Serum for many years and then during the 2018 serving its availability completely disappeared. I suspect this was because they were infringing on a Skinceuticals patent by forcing them to launch this new product which dried out my skin the first 3 times I've used it since it arrived. A few years ago, on the advice of two different plastic surgeons, studies showed that the best combination was 15% vitamin C, 1% vitamin E, and 0.5% ferulic acid. As far as I remember, Skinceuticals did not do any research but patented the formula for combining these three ingredients. Due to the exorbitant cost of their product, I searched other companies that used the same combination of 15% vitamin C, 1% vitamin E, and 0.5% ferulic acid, so I settled on a cosmetic skin solution product at a fraction of the cost. When her vitamin C product disappeared from Revain and her own Part 2018 website, I had a feeling something was wrong. When I received an email that Revain was back in stock I rushed to buy it only to find that even the packaging was different. The active ingredients listed on the packaging contain 15% vitamin C and vitamin E, but not in the percentage that the study found to be the most effective. No mention of ferulic acid, but asiatic acid, glutathlon and hyaluronic acid instead. I will not be buying this product again in the future just because research shows it is the exact combination of ingredients that has shown the best results with vitamin C serum, which is why skinceuticals can command such ridiculous prices. I've noticed that another company is selling the same combination of ingredients for a fraction of the cost I'm likely to buy until they are forced to withdraw their product due to patent infringement allegations. This new product from Cosmetic Skin Solutions may not have the same effect on others as it has on me, but I personally prefer to rely on peer reviewed research for ANY product I use rather than individual customer testimonials when the research has actually been done out.
