Edit: I had the opportunity to fit the bulbs in my wife's car and they work as advertised. I can't tell if that's because the load circuit built into the bulb was sufficient for their car and the included load resistors are still needed for other cars, but they definitely include the load circuit and driver in the bulb. (It was raining and I haven't been able to test them extensively with gauges, and I don't know what resistance the machine is looking for.) The bulbs are very bright and have a more human-friendly color temperature. Eye to see than amber OEM halogen bulbs. No one will miss it when my wife changes lanes or turns. The instant on/off of the LED compared to the fading of halogens is very noticeable and together with the extra brightness should improve visibility, especially on bright days. I suspect there is a holdover in the packaging method that is unnecessary drag in the packaging. They may have originally come with non-CANBUS bulbs and were just accidentally boxed. (I guess I now have two extra load resistors and heatsinks for future projects because they won't be coming back.) Rating changed to 5 stars. Although there was some confusion at the beginning that could have easily been avoided, the product works as expected and advertised. Worth the price and easy to install in the car I work with (2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe). See edit. Right now I'm giving them 2 stars based on the difference between advertising and packaging. They arrived today and, full disclosure, I haven't installed them yet. The ad says there is a built in load circuit but they still come with load resistors in the box and instructions on how to install them. That the resistors are included and not sold separately is a good thing, but the point of CANBUS bulbs isn't to introduce errors and break up wiring with terminating resistors (and avoid the small hassle of using resistors for heat dissipation to place). They were advertised as not requiring any resistors at all. At this point I can only assume that either the lamps don't have built in load circuits as advertised, they are potentially low current and just avoid bugs and excessive flashing on some cars requiring the use of additional resistors to compensate, or I'm somehow wrong Article. Nowhere in the ad is it mentioned that the kit includes anything other than the bulbs themselves, so it was an unpleasant surprise to see the load resistors in the box. Tomorrow I'll install a lightbulb to see if it gives an error or hyperblink. I will update my review accordingly. If resistors are needed to make them truly fault free I will be returning them as they are for my wife's car and I don't want to cut into their wiring knowing there are incandescent bulbs that don't require it ( I have a couple in my car and two in the headlights, but I didn't want to use switches that might blind drivers behind or look like reverse lights until they flash). I hope this is an oversight or mistake, but before I can ascertain the reality of the situation, I would like to give anyone who is considering purchasing them a fair warning. I will update when I have more information.
