Very bad experience with this product. We have been using the RCA dual portable DVD player for 5 years - until recently it worked great. Bought a Sylvania portable dual DVD player to replace the RCA. We used it on a 1300 mile round trip last week and were not happy at all. Here are some of the bad design elements - you have to use the remote to fast forward, skip, etc. These functions cannot be performed on the DVD player itself. The DVD door opens up instead of down (a small nudge will cause it to close unintentionally when changing discs). The straps for attaching to the headrest are not attached with Velcro, so they can easily become loose and slide off. However, these design elements were immediately acceptable. Here are the issues we encountered that forced us to return the item - from the start the AV in/out function didn't work, so we couldn't watch the same DVD on both screens. So we let the kids watch two different films - not perfect, but acceptable. Then one of the DVD players started making this high pitched sound (I'm guessing it was from the DVD engine as it didn't depend on the volume settings). After about an hour it stopped working at all. When we turned off the power, it started and immediately shut off. We tried many scripts to get it working but to no avail. Then, shortly after, another DVD player unexpectedly and repeatedly paused the movie across multiple discs. As a result, I gave up this player. Not suitable for accompanying small children! Attention buyers!
