Review on πŸ”’ Hotec Stainless Steel Locking Kitchen Tongs Set - 9" and 12", Non-Slip Grip, Black Metal Food Tongs by David Jones

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Was good value for money

These pliers are well built and perform as expected. They close well, but I've never seen a cheap pair of pliers that close securely and always with a good balance of friction. So far there hasn't been any rusting on the stainless steel which I can't tell about other Chinese made stainless steel kitchenware I've bought from Revain. The big problem with most of these types of cheap pliers is the spring on the hinge which is usually NOT stainless steel and will eventually rust to the point where it no longer works and of course is impossible to replace. I don't know if they have stainless steel nibs or not, but I'm not betting on them. I hope I'm wrong and they last longer than a year or two. With that in mind, tongs are a solid value, even if they don't end up lasting very long - they grab and hold food well with a decent weight and well-balanced spring tension (especially the longer tongs). They don't slip out of your hand and the spring tension isn't too light. The metal at the lining end is thick enough not to warp.
