Installed them on my 2001 Ranger in less than 30 minutes. The only problem I had was finding the 8mm jack that I had lost. I only installed the switches, not the whole wiring harness. The new switches were easy to remove from the included cables, but the original switches were a bit more difficult to remove. If you have experience removing connectors from circuit boards or computers, you should have no problem removing the original switches. The switches themselves are of better quality than the originals. They have more positive feedback when pressed and the material covering the microswitches isn't thin plastic like the originals which have cracked over time, but a thin rubber material which I expect will be more durable is.
