I won't lie, this laptop is very impressive. Had thought about HP Specter or Galaxy Book Pro but stumbled upon it from everywhere on here. It had everything I was looking for and more than I thought it would. The presentation in the box was nice. For example how it is packed in a dust cover and even has a dust cover between the screen and the keyboard. Big plus just for that. During the first launch and initial setup, I liked how good the screen is. IPS is the way The keyboard backlight and RGB options are a major upgrade for my use case. The selection of apps and programs is too big to list at the outset, but it's nice to have a lot of options. After deleting what I didn't care, I started updating as any device should. Looks like Sonic. YOU MUST ACT FAST! The Dragon Center app offers many different settings and options for things like RGB keyboard lighting, power/battery, performance, etc. A definite plus for that alone. Some people can't take it, so I'll leave it to you. Yes, fans can be VERY LOUD. BUT for my particular use and requirements of a laptop, it's a perfectly fair compromise. They only get THAT loud if you go for extreme performance/cooling. Good headphones drown out this noise. Another surprise is that you can run Android games either through the corresponding MSI app or even through Bluestacks. didn't know when I decided to buy it, but still cool. I would suggest uninstalling the MSI App Player and only using genuine Bluestacks if you want to play around with the amdroid emulation. In this respect, I am finally planning to invest in Steam. Not to mention I can't wait to see what this thing can do in terms of emulation (can't wait to try Stepmania on it). [Edit / Update 7/9/21 - Stepmania works exactly like the arcade game Dance Dance Revolution at the program's maximum graphics settings. A word of caution: SOME games with a maximum refresh rate of 60Hz may experience graphics issues. I especially notice that Sonic Adventure and Adcenture 2 for PC are VERY FAST. There are workarounds to make these games work perfectly.] Build seems solid. Got the gray version and am not at all disappointed with my choice. It has a nice bluish tint. If you set the power saving settings to the highest possible level via Windows & Dragon Center and lower the screen brightness, you can get 6 to 8 hours of battery life with normal use of the gaming computer. Luckily, you can calibrate the battery if needed to extend its life.] [Another note: if you're using a sophisticated thing while doing this, it'll get hot to hold. My suggestion, buy a GOOD fan-cooled laptop stand. I would recommend KLIM Ultimate RGB if you are a gamer who plays less demanding games. Isaac tethering, emulations, etc. Said cooler will probably also work for some demanding games if Cooler Boost is enabled to get some extra airflow] This could be the best "budget" gaming laptop out there. I have the 512GB model with 16GB RAM and an RTX 3060. We'll eventually move on to maxed out RAM and a 2TB Samsung SSD. I can't wait to see what this thing can unleash then. Until then, happy camper!
