I have used a Nicon (ACULON) range finder for many years and preferred it to this one because of the tilting function. it helps me to play golf here in korea with its many weird courses. 2. The magnet helps, but not much because I still have to carry it on my belt during gameplay (think short games). Cons: 1. It's heavier (Magnets might help. Hex screws to take the weight off. Maybe that will work). 2. Finding the pen was difficult and confusing. I was not shaken by the flag as the measurement button was held down and wiggled left and right for the flag. Instead, it gave me a jolt when the button was released. The distance readings changed as I wobbled, and I had to take the lowest number as the measured distance without a jolt giving me a sign that I had reached the correct distance. When possible I aimed at the bottom of the flag to measure the distance and it worked fine (don't get me wrong, I'm not satisfied). The manual was sparse, with a long sheet of paper folded several times, and said nothing about the operation and interpretation of the JOLT function. This is definitely something that needs to be significantly improved. 3. Diopter adjustment is required more frequently. In comparison, the Aculon device had greater distance coverage with a single diopter correction setting. Reading wasn't blurry or anything, but turning the diopter ring was mostly a little annoying. I sold the Akulon to offset the initial cost of that unit for the tilt feature. I think this range finder will give me + and - at the same time. Overall I think my purchase of this unit is reasonable for the price and quality hence 3 stars. Readers of this review should judge for themselves the pros and cons of this device based on their needs. [To the manufacturer] I also hope that my review will help the manufacturer of this device to improve the quality of their products and let me (and future buyers) know how to properly use the JOLT feature to get the most out of it . OR how to remove the magnet and replace it with something lighter so it's easier to carry than attaching to carts or clubs for users who want to carry it around. Think of Apple (and even Shaomi) how they elegantly package their products to wow customers with easy-to-understand instruction manuals and quality materials.
