didn't work for my Seagate Free Agent external drive. Beep and blink

My old cable powers the drive, but my computer doesn't recognize the drive. I tried switching the cable to this one and it started beeping and blinking. I read on Seagate's support site that this happens when the cable isn't properly powering the drive.
