I am an ardent admirer of the miller. I currently have a Syncrowave 350 LX and a Millermatic 350P. Looks like Hobart is owned by Miller now and I assumed they would have the same quality standards as Miller. Unfortunately it isn't. I bought three boxes of 10 pounds. One of them was in reserve - I subsequently canceled that order - but I burned the other two cases. These rods suck. I kept them in the oven at 250 degrees. I even baked them right out of the package at 600 degrees for an hour, just in case. I was still struggling with excessive spatter and porosity when starting and stopping. I cursed those bars and baked some RUST! 7018 rods from an unknown manufacturer and you haven't had the slightest problem. If you bought these sticks you can overcome some difficulties by diligently using a long arc at the beginning and end of each weld, but if you haven't bought them do yourself a favor and get a quality stick.
