I love these GVM video lights. I've gotten them to improve the quality of my videos and switch from small battery powered flashlights to ones I can use for hours on a single charge. Build Quality: The quality of these flashlights is pretty good. They're not as high-end as something like the Aperture, but we're not getting close to that price point either. The stands are really good, thicker than the usual cheap flashlight stands, the flashlight itself is really good quality with a solid metal heatsink on the back and nice knobs. The screen on the back is easy to see and the buttons make it easy to navigate. The shutters on the outer edge of the canopy itself probably feel the cheapest, and I think if they get hit too hard they'll break first. However, I don't really think about it. Ease of use: These lights are very easy to use. There are several ways to activate them: via the app, via the menu of the actual light source and finally via the master-slave integration between the two lights. For example, one light can be set as a master, you set up the light and then another as a slave and it automatically copies all the different settings you used for the master light. This is very useful when doing a room-filling lighting installation. The app also works well for light control, but I found it quicker for me to use the buttons in real light, so I didn't use the app very much. In addition, I have only used light sources of one color or color temperature so far, i.e. no modes or the like. Light Quality: This is probably the category that interests most people. Luckily these lights are amazing! They are very bright, do not flicker and have many different settings. I mostly use HSI and CCT configurations, with one light source being the main light and the other being the color fill light of the room. The large dials make it very easy to choose exactly how much light you need and I'm happy to report that when using colored light you get almost the same brightness as white light. This is a huge benefit as I often see cheaper bulbs really skimp on colored LEDs and in turn you end up with junk brightness. This is not the case with these lights and for that reason alone I would definitely buy them again. Actually, I really want to use the third one as a fill light. But seriously, they get bright. When you have white at full brightness, it discolors your eyes when you look straight at it. Conclusion: I am very happy with these lights and will probably use them in every YouTube video I make in the future. I am currently editing a review of another product that was shot with these lights and it will be featured on my RB E-Motion channel in a couple of weeks. By the way, I use them in a consistently pretty hot room and I've had no problem with them overheating. My actual camera, a Canon r6, overheated while recording, but it was on for about 3 hours and felt hot but showed no signs of performance degradation.
