I've been using it for 30 years. If you don't dive much, a smaller tank will do. It doesn't spoil. Keep clean. I use it on most o-rings including dive lights, cameras and other gear. It is not suitable for devices exposed to more than 40% oxygen. We use a different lubricant. I even coat my knife blades with it after cleaning them. This helps prevent rust - they all rust if you don't take care of them. A small amount is sufficient for O-rings. The silicone does not help the seal. This simply helps the o-ring stick to the surfaces. The O-ring seals.
