Review on Bright Guard Adjustable Bruxism Mouth Guard - Improved Sleep Aid for Nighttime Use (Version 2.0) by Tony Mayes

Good design. Directions need improvement.

I like that the block is adjustable without hard-to-clean metal parts and there is a place for the tongue to rest between the teeth. In my opinion, the forward protrusion of the tongue is no less important than the protrusion of the lower jaw. Customization means you can experiment with different degrees of protrusion or gradually improve it over several weeks. What could be improved: The instructions could be more specific about how long to put the device in boiling water. They should also warn you to check the orientation of which part is on top before molding it to your mouth, as I actually molded it upside down. It still works, but can no longer be adjusted. The instructions may also state that the product shrinks in hot water because it caused a gag reflex when I put it in my mouth before shaping it. If you use any of these devices, I recommend stretching your jaw before and after using the device to compensate for the lack of jaw movement during sleep.

Pros
  • nice little thing
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something
