I wrote a review on this tape for 1/4 inch. The larger size is better suited for thread spools but is easy to cut and fit onto any spool. Use it to prevent unraveling and dust accumulation. It sticks - not to the thread, but to itself. You don't have to worry about it falling off. It won't come off until you remove it. Never used it, never knew it existed until I saw the show on Utube. Now that I've started using it I can't buy enough. It often sells out, so visit whenever you can. I only wish they had three rolls per pack or a combination of 1/4" and 1/2". It is very practical and reusable.
