Review on 🐠 Optimized Fluval U Series Underwater Filter for Aquariums by Mindy Light

I've been using this filter in my 45 gallon aquarium for a few months. I was confused by two things other reviewers comment. 1) This filter is NOT noisy. I can not hear. General. Compared to other filters, the noise factor is negligible. So unless you intentionally put your ear to this thing, you won't hear anything. 2) On shrimp / roast. I have red cherry shrimp that breed like rabbits and the fry are INTENTIONALLY hanging in the slots between the outer and inner foam. They don't "suck in" and don't get stuck. They go there and eat and swim away. It doesn't pull them into the filter, the suction is efficient but not that crazy, and the foam pad keeps them from getting hurt. They just like to eat it. Something strange may have happened to previous reviewers, but I haven't changed it in any way to be safe for my little shrimp. The only reason I pinned this to a star is because the rear suction/mount annoys me because when I go to flush the media it always springs forward and gets tangled and I have to fiddle with it to re-seal it install instead of crushing some curious fish or shrimp behind it when I put it back. It just takes a bit of fiddling, but it doesn't really matter that much. All in all a great filter. I much prefer Hobs. And I hate canister filters because they're loud and bulky. This is a good alternative.
