A very decent machine for the price. Not as sleek and quiet as my old Kenmore, but it's an easy-to-use, no-frills workhorse and runs well and straight even when you're sewing close to the edge so you don't have to strain to keep it straight. With this machine it is very important to thread correctly and to ensure that the thread enters the tension discs from the inside. This means that as you thread this long channel and back, you hold the thread firmly up (in front of the channel) and thereby ensure that the thread properly engages the tension discs as you go down and back. If you don't, there's a good chance that you tie the coil. what I saw how some complain. Overall, I really like the functionality of this sewing machine - perfect for both beginners and experienced seamstresses.
