So we needed to replace our mini chandelier in the kitchen and remove about 30cm from our existing home and that was the only idea that I had . since none of the electricians in town want to visit my BFE house. The new chandelier is pretty darn heavy (about 20 pounds, 5 lights, glass bulbs, metal everywhere) so I needed something pretty heavy. This hook had some good reviews so I figured why not. My new bracket is oiled bronze, so I coated the CORRECTLY LABELED, POORLY PHOTOGRAPHED "antique brass" hook with two coats of Rustoleum Bronze oil paint before attaching the hook. . No problem: I let the paint dry for 4 hours and then hung the new bracket on the hook without scratching or peeling the new paint. This is great hardware - a nice big lever that you stick through the ceiling and then GENTLELY pull the hook down a bit while screwing it into the ceiling to secure everything. I highly recommend this hook. Yes, it's pretty rich for most uses, but it's a hell of a lot better than those stupid rubber-coated numbers that look like the only other option smaller than an arm and leg. 5 Stars!
