Purchased a complete floor and trunk kit for a 2013 Mazda CX-5. I didn't notice any smell or exhaust fumes. They seem pretty heavy, but cutting wasn't difficult. I simply laid my carpet mats on top of the rubber mats, then circled them and cut them with household scissors. If I didn't have my original carpets, this could be a chore. But that would be the case with any brand of universal floor mat in the same size. Pruning is natural. This is a compromise for a low, low purchase price. They look solid and attractive. Pretty happy.
