When I ordered this jacket for my 3 year old I wasn't expecting much, I just wanted something heavier than his windbreaker. OMG this jacket is amazing! I washed it and hung it in the dryer for about 5 minutes and it still looks great. The material is very soft and MUCH thicker than I expected. It could definitely be his thicker winter jacket. (We live in the south.) The hood is very thick as it's made of 2 pieces of thick material put together so it's a bit heavy but no big deal. Overall, for the price, this jacket is a godsend. The fit was a bit oversized (I bought the 2-3 year old when my son recently turned 3) but he can wear it with no problem and seems like he could benefit from it. I will probably buy another one for my 1 year old.
