First wash, badly faded on cold wash and the amount of fibers released in the dryer required twice draining during the drying cycle. The fabric has a scratchy and cheap feel and fits in such a way that it's no longer than a real mattress, meaning it doesn't hang over your toes at all and you can see the sheets on the edge of the bed. It's all cotton. However, we use it as a quilt in the middle layer and it works well enough for that. I don't know how well it holds up to a second wash. I was impressed with the colour, I can live with fading, but the biggest disappointment was how scratchy and uncomfortable it is if you accidentally rub it at night. At least it wasn't insanely expensive and it will serve as a middle layer on your bed.
