MuscleTech Nitro-Tech Whey Isolate Protein Powder Cookies and Cream

I use protein powders regularly and while there are exceptions, they don't usually taste good. They offer a quick and convenient way to increase your protein intake. This product uses milk based whey protein and I trust this brand. The shaker bottle alone did a good job of mixing a scoop of powder with 8 ounces of water, which isn't always the case, but my only issue is the cookie and cream flavor. The taste is oddly reminiscent of toffee pudding, which wouldn't be a problem, but it's overly sweet and has a noticeable aftertaste, both of which are likely caused by the addition of the commonly used artificial sweetener sucralose (Splenda). In the future I will use the powder in smoothies instead of drinking it separately with water. The nutrient breakdown shows that each 140-calorie scoop contains 30 grams of protein and just half a gram of fat (saturated), 4 grams of carbohydrates, and 2 grams of sugars (less than 1 gram added). percent DV of vitamin D, 20 mg cholesterol (7 percent DV), 330 mg calcium (25 percent DV), and 130 mg potassium (3 percent DV). When monitoring salt intake, the sodium level is 270 mg, which is 13 percent of the daily value. The formula also includes nutritional supplements for strength and muscle growth, recovery and digestive support. For expiration purposes, the tub has an expiration date of 31 months in the future, but dates may vary. Solid protein powder, but I just didn't like the taste - so no.
