Absolutely fantastic purchase for an aspiring artist

My son is becoming increasingly interested in art and is showing great success at sketching and cartoon characters. He started drawing characters from Five Nights at Freddy, then CupHead and Undertale. I've watched him create giant sculptures in Minecraft. So I knew I had to nurture that interest. I bought him a complete painting set with paints and a sketchbook, crayons. He did some things, but the inconveniences of it all didn't really work. I started looking at graphics tablets and was willing to spend about $300 for one but the more I looked at it the more I looked at it, it was just a tablet with a pen, nothing more. The software was unwieldy and connectivity seemed to be a real issue. After all, it was, at best, an advanced touchscreen monitor for your computer. I've seen HUION and read reviews, watched videos on Youtube and surprisingly it had great reviews and was very sensitive to pressure. This meant it would "behave" like a real pen. I wanted my son to experiment with painting light and volume. Pay attention to the light sources and how shadows affect the appearance of the image. We installed the free Autodesk Sketchbook, it's not Photoshop, but it's enough for any artist to draw a fairly complex picture. It features image layers, multiple brush and pen styles, a lasso, and even some size models. My son was able to install the HUION himself without my help, it was basically plug and play, the sketchbook recognized the tablet immediately and the pen was accurate and responsive. We tried it on a phone and a PC, both connected very easily thanks to the adapters that come with it. I showed him the basics of how to use the program. 30 minutes later he came back with it, I was amazed. I feel guilty for buying something so cheap but it is a testament to the value of this tool. My son liked it, I'm considering upgrading to a bigger one but want to see what he does with it. Very proud and very happy with this product, worth every penny.
