I've been looking for a similar product for years and it's finally here! We started out using Thetford's portable cassette toilet for camping in a tent and quickly found that emptying the cassette was an awkward and potentially dangerous task. The first time I tried to empty an RV landfill, I made a nasty mess. Then, when we emptied it at home, we thought that the smell would never leave the house. After several attempts we were able to bring the process down to a reasonable ick ratio. But still not very comfortable. We recently bought a camper with a cassette toilet and have heard that a product is coming out that will make flushing a cassette no different than emptying a black water tank. Spring. Here it is and couldn't be happier to have it! I don't care if it's made in China! In fact, I'm glad it was made in China because, according to FitRV, making it in the US would significantly delay time to market (up to a year or more) and increase the price drastically (by more than 50%). . ). While the Americanizer may sound patriotic, the name comes from the fact that cassette toilets are common overseas in residences and that their disposal stations are designed to dispose of them. While in the US most disposal stations are closed systems designed to use a standard RV sewer hose, which is not at all practical for emptying a cassette. While I would like to buy a product made in the USA, I am very grateful that this product can be used this season and not next season or after the season. Thank you for bringing this much needed product to market! ****UPDATE**** I was able to use the Americanizer on a recent hike and it worked exactly as expected. Because of the (brilliant) design, the Americanizer didn't need to be rinsed or cleaned after ejecting the cartridge. While I was removing the cassette, a camp worker drove to the junkyard and got out of his van. I pocketed my Americanizer as he came towards me. I suspect he was either trying to keep me from throwing away my tape or to make sure I didn't leave a mess. Whatever his intentions, he returned to his van and drove off as soon as I started unloading my cassette of Americanizra.
