When I first got my iPad I was very scared it would fall or something would happen to my backpack as I use it for college classes. I was also looking for something to ensure I keep my Apple Pencil with my iPad so I don't lose it and this case is great! Screen off when closing the case works great, I feel completely secure with my iPad without dropping it with this case and the pencil fits very well and still stays in the holder (I was afraid it would stretch and fall out but it is not like that. ) The only problem I have is that after some time the very bottom where the pencil is held lifts up a bit but doesn't do any harm. However, I would suggest keeping the round part of the pencil in the pocket and not the sharp edge in the pocket to avoid unnecessary stretching. Overall this product is amazing and I love it. Worth buying!
