These are great socks for people who hate socks that are too tight. My son wears size 13 shoes and has flat feet with narrow heels (and heel spurs!). He also inherited thick calves (and ankles) although he is not overweight nor a diabetic. These socks are comfortable, as thankfully they stretch and don't pinch the ankles. They look tight/ secure to me, and they don't move around when in a running shoe. He says they are more comfortable and drier than his previous Costc0 socks. At his age (14), his feet sweat constantly even in AC, and even without shoes (which is almost all the time for him during this pandemic of 2020). He prefers these ankle socks over a name brand crew sock for diabetics heralded by a fictitious doctor. I wish I could find a brand that makes looser ("diabetic") athletic socks in even *larger* sizes (hello, Yomandamor?). Personally I think all-cotton is "better" for several reasons, but not for my son at this time, when he doesn't want his mom telling him to change his socks 3-4 times a day (who would?). Thankfully these come in black and pass my teenager's aesthetic test.
