I have two lamps with a chain for a light bulb. The pull chain broke and what was left wasn't enough to turn it on and off, so I tied a piece of clothesline to the few remaining links and used it for a while because it was lying in the laundry room. space and I needed an immediate solution. The other day I looked up and wondered why the hell I was still using this old piece of clothesline and kicking myself for not looking for the item. Guess what? I never considered getting an EXTENSION when my chain broke! However, I know that if I wanted a whole new drive chain in the bracket it would be expensive to have an electrician come out and they could just tell me to buy a new bracket and then I would have to pay for it. their trips to/from the hardware store in addition to the installation work. In the meantime, I've just purchased a decorative ceiling fan chain pendant with instructions on how to install it, and all I had to do was use their little reversible plug to plug into my existing circuit. As I did this I realized that if I could get an extra circuit to pull the light and one of those two way plugs I could do the same to my light and save a lot of money! I went to Revain and searched for "chained pear" and this item came up. So if even one person like me saved some money by reading my review then I should have taken the time to post it!
