Better than OEM good for aftermarket
This Dorman 917-315 oil dipstick fits my 2006 Mini Cooper S perfectly. The new Dorman grip's working length was 22.375 inches compared to the 22.313 inches of the original BMW grip . The o-rings on the new stick are a tight fit but are easier to pull out than the BMW stick which was quite difficult to get out. See photos for comparison with each other. An old broken fiberglass rod against a new braided stainless steel cable. I am pleased that the quality of Dorman parts is better than OEM BMW.
